The Sunny Island

Grado is a little dreamy fishermen's island without any mass tourism.

The sunny island is located between Venice and Triest and offers sea of best and constantly controlled water quality, a clean sandy beach and a lot of sun.

The Town

For about a hundred years, Grado has been a popular and traditional health resort for inhalations, sand and beauty treatments.

Grado offers a large variety of open-air activities. You can go for marvelous walks in the old city center, for instance, watch romantic sunsets by the sea, play golf, tennis and mini-golf or do many other kinds of sport.

If you are not a sports freak, you can take a refreshing drink or creamy cappuccino in one of the cafes on the beach or in the city center, after a long day of shopping.

In the evenings there are various things you could do, such an enjoying of of the well-known concerts in the Basilica of Grado.

Excursions

Barbana, an island of pilgrimage which is located in the picturesque lagoon of Grado, is as worth a visit as the region of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, with its amazing nature and the famous wine tasting events.

You should not miss the Castle of Miramare near Trieste, the Roman excavations at Aquileia, the historical city of Udine and of course, the beautiful city of Venice (only one hour by train).

Hiking in the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia area, or in the nearby Slovenia, are also things these places are famous for.
